On Thursday, March 30th, 2023, two of our graduate students presented our ‘Energy & Comfort at WSU’program at the Graduate Showcase Event. On Tuesday, April 11, 2023, both were announced to win the Crimson Award! We are so proud of Zach and Anna. Here are some of their thoughts on the project:

“The Graduate and Professional Students Association (GPSA) Research Exposition was an amazing opportunity for Anna and I to present our team’s research, covering the last year and a half of interventions on WSU’s campus. The team’s work has been geared toward expanding WSU’s Energy and Comfort campaign, which involves the reduction of energy consumption, the development of communities of sustainable advocates and prioritizes the comfort and well-being of building occupants. We were very fortunate to be chosen for the first position, Crimson Award for our category, Engineering and Environmental Sciences. It was inspiring to engage faculty and staff on campus in this important effort and even more inspiring to see the results. We hope to utilize the questions and feedback from the research exposition to strengthen our campaign and prepare for expansion to additional buildings on WSU’s Pullman campus.”
